A huge oil conglomerate sets an open challenge to any team that can set a new 1000 mph land speed record. The front runners: a large aeronautics corporation with a high-tech rocket car and a grass roots team funded only by bravado and bootstrap engineering. Daily speed trials pit men against men, machine against machine as the race to be the fastest heats up!
