Review of Lady Caroline Lamb (1972) by Melissa H — 18 Sep 2018
I saw this years ago and I truly enjoyed it. It is a period drama about the affair between Lady Caroline Lamb and George, Lord Byron. I am fond of both the period and films made about the period, so this one was right up my alley.
I consider it to be a good, not great film. The acting is good and believable. One definitely feels sympathy for Lady Caroline's poor, suffering husband! I get very annoyed with Lady Caroline, because I feel as if women should have better sense than to throw themselves int o so much jeopardy for a man who does not want them - yet this is from a true story where a woman did exactly that.
I understand the current DVD of it is a poor transfer, so do be cautious about judging this film based on that.
