Review of Kwaidan (1965) by Jack G — 13 Aug 2008
One of the most eerie ghost movies ever; don't get too impatient with it, as it's like being immersed in pure Japanese traditional storytelling. It might not be very frightening, but it is quietly chilling, and gorgeously stylized in meditative camera movements, lavish production designs and sets (utilizing Toho for all its worth), and precise and demanding acting.
