Review of King Kong (1933) by Benjamin T — 01 Sep 2011
One of the most amazing movies I have ever seen. THIS film puts modern CGI movies to shame. I cannot even BEGIN to guess how long this took to film, as around 40% of it was stop motion. A single minute of footage could have taken DAYS to complete. What some people think is that this is a pure action monster movie, but it's more of a romance. While Kong seems more like a kid making a fuss over his "Pretty toy," the final sequence, when he picks Ann up and plays with her shortly moments before plummeting to his death, shows that he wasn't the bloodthirsty monstrosity everyone sees him as.
It was beauty that killed the beast...
