Review of Kafka (1991) by Camden N — 18 Jun 2008
For the duration of the movie I really felt like I was seeing the essence of Kafka accurately portrayed on screen, but once it was over I felt a bit empty. It's been called the Kafka equivalent of Cronenberg's Naked Lunch, but it's not quite as complex or enlightening as that film is.
Stylistically the film was great and really recalled The Third Man and some of Orson Welles's films. The performance by Jeremy Iron was also good if not spot on.
