Review of Just Before I Go (2015) by Steve S — 06 May 2015
It's uneven, awkward at times, full of stereotypes and toilet humor, stunted dialogue throughout, and demands a complete suspension of disbelief. And yet, for all its flaws, I genuinely liked this movie.
It's like sitting through an regional stage production where you know you could pick it apart if you wanted to, but why bother? Everyone is so invested in what they are doing and it actually works.
I was completely seduced by this film and found it utterly magical by the end. Kudos to Courteney Cox for bringing her own style to this film and clearly having a blast while doing it.
