Review of Ju Dou (1990) by Jennifer S — 16 Apr 2008

I am a sucker for these dramatic movies by Zhang Yimou. It was really good but it was a little bit too spell out. I think he doubted the audience's ability to remember things or make certain connections.

But overall, it is very similar to Raise the Red Lantern in it's slow pace and beautiful visuals.
