Review of Jonah Hex (2010) by Steve R — 10 Feb 2011
A decent modern western film with hints of fantasy (coming from its comic book origins). Josh Brolin as Jonah Hex does a great job, and the eye-candy Megan Fox even turns in a respectable performance. Surprisingly, the only let down in the cast was John Malkovich playing his generic bad guy role again.
Unlike a lot of modern films, the run time is kept to a sensible length and keeps the interest throughout without resorting to non-stop action sequences. I can't see why this film is getting such bad press.
There hasn't been a great western or comic book adaptaion for a while, and this film does a good job at both of those.
