It's a shame that this movie is a giant mess. There were very questionable choices made in editing, sound and shot composition. If it wasn't for Andre Benjamin's fantastic performance, this movie would slide to the bottom of the heap.
Benjamin is that good! I've seen a lot of Hendrix footage, and Benjamin gets all his nuances down beautifully. His performance is almost reason enough to watch this jumbled mess of a film...almost.
