A great, great movie. Well-acted, written, and extremely thought - provoking, and the first movie I have yet seen about a real man. Not the Conan the Barbarian kind of testosterone-pounding, gun-wanking, brainless tower of muscle, but a man who simply will not break under stress, and has the courage to seek truth. Unfortunately, truth is not all that sought-after in this society.

This movie is the most thought-provoking one I've ever watched, because it's not the same tired shit about people finding themselves or growing up. Jim definately grows up at the end of this movie, but it feels more like a means than an end, and in truth the movie is about a man versus his lying, scheming, corrupt clusterfuck of a government.

People seem to like saying Stone's a horrible director. He directed Platoon, and he directed this. That makes him better than fucking Peter Jackson and Guerillmo Del Toro put together in my book.
