Review of Jesus Christ Superstar (2000) by Lauren-Shelby D — 07 Jul 2007
I'm of the mind that someone sold their soul to Satan to get this version made. The concept of modernizing the story is a decent enough idea, and it might be watchable if they hadn't casted such talentless performers.
Glenn Carter is God's gift to simultaneously under and over acting, and Jerome Pradon completely strips the passion (no pun intended) out of each and every song he sings. Although his acting is pretty good, his strained and whiny voice will make you wish for death before the end.
The priests and Pilate are pretty decent, but they could never even come close to saving this piece of crap.
