Review of Jesus Christ Superstar (2000) by Mark B — 11 Nov 2007
I didn't enjoy this nearly as much as the 1973 version. That version had a few modern adaptions but still kept the ancient Israel feel to it. The visual aspects of this adaptation do not coincide with the lyrics much at all, not to mention the fact that this version comes off as extremely violent which makes to hard to find redeeming qualities about it.
Plus the cast cannot measure up to Ted Neeley, Carl Anderson, and Barry Dennan.
