I certainly don't find my own housework as interesting as Jeanne's. How can that be? I was totally engrossed. Was Akerman influenced by Tokyo Story for the static and claustrophobic frames? She certainly didn't take any hope in with her. Even the dropping of a spoon is catastrophic. This is a masterpiece because it is a one-off experiment that worked. Let's hope no-one else attempts it.
PS. I also found her rather sexy but not sure whether that's because of her beauty lingering on from Last Year in Marienbad, although her hair was more gorgeous in this one.
