Review of Jane Austen in Manhattan (1980) by Sandy S — 19 Nov 2015
The film was an interesting re-visit to the 80's, and in that respect it was fun to watch, but the unswerving devotion of his acolytes to Pierre was hard to believe. I watched the film as I love Jane Austen's novels, and expected to find some of her themes and ideas in the film, but mostly the film explored power and manipulation without Austen's wry humour.
