In spite of the animation being nothing but stick figures with occasional flashes of photography, master visionary Don Hertzfeldt transcends the medium of film with a visual poem that tells an achingly sad yet moving story of the human condition and its relationship with life and death -a strange, disturbing, funny, and emotional out-of-body experience.
