Review of It's Such a Beautiful Day (2012) by David L — 03 Jan 2015
Unless you are creating a technical documentary, DH's masterpiece represents a fantastic way to portray mental illness. Without manipulating the plot or the viewers emotions, Hertzfeld manages to create something dark, funny, hopeful, and beautiful. It is unassuming yet nuanced, mellow without being mellow-dramatic, and engaging yet never taking itself to seriously.
JUST WATCH IT ALREADY.
