Review of Iron Sky (2012) by Don S — 02 Feb 2014
Read the Anthony Lawrie review. He is dead on. This film is definitely an homage to Dr. Strangelove. Its take on racism, fascism, the way the world views the U.S., the way the U.S. sees the world, the use of WWII as American propaganda, propaganda, war, the futility of war, the frailty of humans, energy as a reason for war.
Even takes a shot at the Third Reich's over sized, over engineered war machines as opposed to the mass produced, smaller Allied war tech. I laughed. I was entertained. At the end I was chilled. Commentary so subtle that it is sure to disappoint anyone expecting a hammer blow rather than a deftly used scalpel.
NOT just another "B" Nazi from____ movie. See "Nazis from the center of the earth" if you want to see B (for BAD) Sharknado-type schlock.
