Review of Infestation (2009) by Dean M — 04 Jul 2010
Giant bug movies are inherently silly in there conception even if they are trying to be serious. Fear of insects is something most people have ingrained in there DNA but somehow making them bigger doesn't make them scarier.
So why try to be serious? Films like Eight Legged Freaks get it and they provide a great ride for it. Infestation is such a movie. It is fun & a bit goofy when and where it needs to be. There are few redundant characters but giant bug movies are a sub-genre of survival horror so its pretty clear the redundant characters are going to get eaten or mutated at some point.
It certainly scores points for having zombie insect people, cause lets face it, zombies are like bacon, everything is better with zombies!
