Review of In the Mood (1987) by Caleb M — 08 Apr 2011
Damn, but Patrick Dempsy is a gifted comedian. In IN THE MOOD he manages to be charming, sweet, innocent and goofy. The set-up is funny, all the more so being based on a "true story". While it's true that today this sort of story wouldn't be met with such fanfare, it's fun to see the 1950's American public's reaction to it.
IN THE MOOD is genial and sweet. It's little more than a cute comedy, but it contains some astute observations on the difference between men and women's approach to romance, and it will leave you with a smile on your face.
