Review of In the House (2012) by Harper S — 21 Oct 2012
Great movie! Saw it in Montreal at Nouveau Cinema festival and it was the best. Every teacher of creative writing should see this humor-filled drama about how art's imitation of life can can rupture that life irrevocably.
The award-winning script keeps changing your presuppositions so often that you'll finally lose all sense of what's "real." You'll keep thinking about the teacher-student relationship long after the film is over.
Extremely reminiscent of Ozon's earlier film, Swimming Pool, but much more accessible - and, to me, more devastating.
