Review of In Search of a Midnight Kiss (2007) by Geoffrey S — 23 Jun 2008
This is my film of the year so far! A Manhattan or an Annie Hall for the 21st century. Set in Los Angeles over a period of 24 hours, this is the story of a guy down on his luck who's lonely hearts column is answered on New Year's Eve.
This film is both hilarious and touching, fantastical and believeable, magical and real. I was completely exhausted after watching it as I felt I had lived every second of the movie. It brought back amazing feelings and memories from my twenties - can I have some more of those now please?! Good sideburn rating: 6/10 - Kooky but attractive Scoot (!) has rather excellent facial hair for most of this film.
Presence of satorially elegant men: 5/10 - A bit too much slacker attire to be sartorial but some good stripy scarves!
