Review of In Search of a Midnight Kiss (2007) by Priscilla E — 08 Jul 2008
Abs brilliant, well-observed, realistic, just the right amount of drama and comedy, engaging characters and dialogue. Well-acted with a sense of real chemistry between the leads. Really end up warming to characters you would't think you liked such as viv who seems rude, obnoxiuos and mentally unstable at first but who turns out to be q vulnerable and interestingly complex.
Whilst Wilson is just entirely loveable despite seeming a bit of a loser and bum at first. Shows how appearances are decieving. The ending has a bitter-sweet poignancy too and tactfully manages to avoid any cliches.
The characters reminds me of Joel and Clementine in the brilliant eternal sunshine of the spotless mind aswell. Simply perfect.
