Review of I'm Not There (2007) by Greg T — 27 Dec 2009
An antidote to the hagiograophical biogs of tortured musicians that have been doing the rounds in recent years, Todd Haynes's dip into the murky pool of Bob Dylan's public persona and private life is revitalising, difficult, complicated and absolutely brilliant.
Just like with Dylan himself, you'll take away your own construction of this deliberately obtuse movie, but hopefully you'll just be thrilled to have taken the journey. Marvellous.
