Review of I Am Not a Witch (2017) by Diana M — 01 May 2018
Thought-provoking, sweetly picturesque and bitterly accurate, this film's discordant narrative is a complex commentary on the role of females in a society where folklore is law. I went into this experience expecting a witch trial/hunt, and came out of the other side of it with questions about blind belief, ignorance, exploitation, the role of girls in a small community, female self-image in comparison with my own outlook.
I think you can see this movie for free on Facebook; I reccomend it.
