Not your usual cliche AI story. One of the many things that make the movie interesting is that there is no clear-drawn line between good and evil, protagonist and antagonist. Instead of robots trying to destroy humanity, Mother is trying to preserve it .
.. through questionable methods. The relationship is developed very well and you're torn between the two sides throughout, only to realize there were no such sides.
