Review of Humpday (2009) by Struan R — 26 Apr 2010

Finally watched it just now and, minus a slightly underwhelming resolution, I was thoroughly impressed. The film was made very low-budget, but even when this is apparent, it still looks really good and feels deliberate and controlled.

I found out afterwards that the script was fully ad-libbed, making the actors' performances even more special. I wish the writer(/director) could have tied up the character arcs a little more interestingly, but that's my only complaint, though it MAY have cost it a final fifth star for me.

Really enjoyable movie though, and I'm glad I watched it, whether it's worth 4 or 5 stars.
