Review of Human Zoo (2009) by Grant S — 13 Jan 2011
A rather disjointed tale of violence and revenge (made even blurrier with repeated flash-backs), director and star Rasmussen spoils the more interesting aspects of her story with the introduction of the preternaturally annoying Nick Corey, a man so excruciatingly twattish that my sympathies for Adria turned to disbelief as soon as he first appears climbing the walls like an idiot.
That said, there are several visceral sequences, Rasmussen is improbably gorgeous throughout while a charismatic Djuricko deserves his own spin-off movie for his turn as her murderous mentor. With some judicious editing this might have been more compelling but it's worth a watch (if only for the delicious Ms.
R).
