Review of How to Survive a Plague (2012) by Ina S — 04 Feb 2013
Perfectly narrated documentary on the ACT-UP and TAG coalitions and their fight against HIV & AIDS. Told almost entirely by skillfully selected archive materials, this film manages to be empowering, moving, informative, all at the same time. A testament to grassroots activism and a beautiful memorial to the many, many people in and outside of the LGBT community who lost their fight against the virus.
I am rooting for this at the Academy Awards.
