Review of How to Be a Latin Lover (2017) by Deena D — 10 Aug 2017

I can't even begin to understand how this movie has such a low rating. It is one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long while. It literally has dozens upon dozens of laugh-out-loud scenes and while it is in general, a feel-good movie, it doesn't shy away from realities, which makes it all the better.

The cameos alone, along with some well-known actors is worth the watch. The only think I can think of that may have been a turn-off for some viewers and maybe explains the low rating, is the fact that maybe a quarter of it was in Spanish.

Sometimes (and I hate this) a movie's second language is not translated correctly in close-captioning and the entire meaning is lost (The Lost City of Z for example had horrible translations). We watched How To Be A Latin Lover with no subtitles or CC, but I am wondering if this perhaps may have happened in this case, because nothing else I can think of seems to explain the undeserved low rating this little gem has garnered here on RT.
