Review of House Party 2 (1991) by Wesley G — 03 Sep 2009
I actually enjoyed this one more than the first. Take the plight of the African American, throw in the struggles of college as a new student, and stir it up with a great soundtrack, and you have House Party 2.
Kid N' Play come back better than before, and actually split up as a music duo, with Kid going to college and Play pushing to continue his music career. Even Reginald Hudlin's quirks he adds to these movies (sound effects, camera shakes) round out the fun film, with a huge and important underlying message.
