Review of Hawaii, Oslo (2004) by Travis V — 28 Nov 2010
This is easily one of the best films I have seen all year; granted, I'm a bit late in seeing it since it released in 2004, but it's a Norwegian film that I just stumbled across randomly.
It's a drama that takes takes three (or even four, if you consider the paramedic's role as its own individual story) separate story lines and fashions them into a remarkable whole: it is a drama wherein birth, separation, reunion, betrayal, crime, despair, hope, love, and death are all weaved together into a beautiful, tragic tapestry.
This film is powerfully moving; you will almost certainly weep.
