Review of Harold and Maude (1971) by Joseph S — 05 Feb 2010
Every man's fantasy.
Shame on me for not giving this a full 5 stars earlier. Maude's dated hippy rhetoric notwithstanding it's still well acted, immaculately edited, beautifully scored, cleverly designed, laugh out loud funny, and all around just awesome movie. Those scarred off by the "taboo" may/decemember romance angle just need to get over themselves, and soak in Hal Ashby's wonderful sensibilities and color palates for awhile. They will be better fo it.
