Review of Hardware (1990) by Rodney S — 02 Nov 2009
Absolutely love this new uncut released 2-disc DVD of Richard Stanley's post-apocalyptic thriller about a very deadly robot. The video is very impressive, and I've also always liked the strange soundtrack, with a fairly new at the time, industrial rock.
This is not everyones cup of tea for sure, but I like the whole story concept, and especially the scenes of the M.A.R.K. 13 droid putting itself together. After it completes that, it goes on a wild no holds barred bloody killing spree.
I listened to the Stanley commentary, since I know the movie pretty well, and it is very good. Stanley talks quite a bit about his planned sequel that never got off the ground, but something he still hopes for.
I doubt that will ever happen, so don't miss this excellent futuristic sci-fi horror flick.
