Review of Happythankyoumoreplease (2011) by Shtivelman M — 25 May 2011
To me, this really felt like a 90s ensemble comedy/drama (the folky music and MSCL font were large contributors)--at first I wasn't sure whether this was a good or bad thing, but in the end it was definitely a good, sweet reminder. I was most impressed by Zoe Kazan, Tony Hale, and Michael Algieri's performances. It was very satisfying that Sam sort-of kidnapping Rasheed had some actual consequences and wasn't just supposed to be inspirational.
(I completely don't get the Garden State comparisons just because Zach Braff is also a tv guy, I despised that movie and liked this one).
