Review of Happenstance (2000) by Wilson S — 21 May 2009
This is one of those movies where a bunch of disconnected characters who don't know one another circle around each other, impacting one another's lives without their lives really intersecting, with a couple of key exceptions. It's like a genre now, this type of movie. Was "Nashville" the first movie like this? Robert Altman has a lot to answer for.
But it's good, verging on terrific. The characters are fully formed and interesting. Tag: Multiple Story Lines.
BTW, there are a zillion movies named "Happenstance." This is the one from 2000 or 2001 with the woman from Amelie, Audrey Tautou.
