Review of Halla Bol (2008) by Marisa R — 14 Dec 2008
I got this one from the public library, so it was not in my original Bolly watch list. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the story and admission of actors and movie industry arrogance and shallowness.
I think the story deserved a way better execution. The acting was good, but I was disappointed with Devgan's inability of smiling, it seems that intriguing gesture of him has worked before so he is unable to change it.
Another important aspect of the story as a whole that I felt we missed was... nonviolence. Still it is more thought-provoking that your regular Bollywood movie. The song "Shabd Gurbani" was superb in my opinion, absolutely LOVE devotional songs in Bollywood, never fail to amaze me.
