Review of Güeros (2014) by Togno G — 16 Oct 2015
The sublime photography in black and white, complemented with a confused assembly, leaving a sense of timelessness that the director has no intention of changing. Even getting out of fiction to mock his own production and creative work.
The movie is funny, surprising and fresh. It has sharp, ellipses and ironies cuts; plays with planes, shadows and sound. In short it is an ode to the life of the university, where the illusions, the surprises, the achievements and disappointments can happen in one day amid drunkenness and adventure without leaving the great Mexico City.
