Review of Grand Canyon (1991) by Shawn D — 05 Jan 2019
This film is a wonderful character study of the complexities of just knowing other people. Kevin Kline is a tempted husband who is struggling with his wife who is currently suffering what seems to be a mid-life crisis.
His friend Steve Martin is also in a crisis of his own making as his fun nature turns into self loathing. Surrounded by all this mess Kline seems lost, that is until he meets an ordinary friend (Glover) who has extra-ordinary common sense.
If you like films with character depth and love of demanding audience attentions spans then this is the one for you.
