Review of Goodbye Lover (1999) by Salvador D — 05 Dec 2014
The lasting memory of this film is pretty much this: Ellen DeGeneres's attempt at drama, plugged into a morosely cynical and unpleasant story centering around seemingly Happy-go-lucky realtor(Patricia Arquette) who has no qualms with multiple affairs and quite possibly murder.
Perhaps this is merely my own tastes showing up here, but any film whose only real message(and also is the entire meat of the movie's humor) is basically "Don't trust anyone" is VERY difficult to like, either on a critical or emotional level.
