You people--even the positive reviewers--are so far off base I feel like I'm the only one who gets this movie. Just calling it a romcom is being superficial. The movie is about a damaged character overcoming something very traumatic, with the help of someone else's true love.

Since so many people apparently don't get it, I recommend you watch the "goes to Sundance" bonus feature on the DVD before watching the movie. The (female) director explains what the movie's about. If you don't want to watch the whole hour long bonus feature, just fast forward to the parts where she's talking. She even explains why she felt she had to add humor to a very serious subject.

By the way, the "eroticism" in this movie is just a topic that the characters talk about because they work in a video store. There are no erotic "scenes" in this movie, even though it's part of the movie's theme.
