Review of Goldfinger (1964) by Donald W — 05 Jul 2010
This was not only the greatest Bond film produced to date but it is one of the greatest spy/espionage films created. The movie featured some of the most memorable villains and a flawless plot.
The movie defined what a great Bond film should be like and since then all Bond films have tried to compare themselves to this benchmark.
There are just so many aspects of the film that are just "Bond" in nature. The best example of this is when he removes his wetsuit only to reveal a clean evening jacket underneath. He proceeds into the public with not so much as a hair out of place or a bead of sweat on his forehead. He is simply "Bond...James Bond.".
