Review of Gokusen: The Movie (2009) by Nathan H — 28 Mar 2010
For anyone who's seen an episode of the Gokusen TV series, Gokusen: The Movie is formulaic to a fault. Even a third of the way through, it starts repeating itself as if a second episode had started.
The boys in class 3D run to the scene of a fight in a big group and get in trouble. Yankumi comes to save the day, addresses the class as "Omaera," and gives a speech about the importance of education and her hope for the future.
In a word: tiresome.
