Review of Glassland (2015) by Aïko G — 11 Dec 2016
A lot of fluff and quite a bit of emotion go along with two outstanding performances makes 'Glassland' a take it or leave it adventure. There's too much shaky cam(somebody buy director Gerard Barrett a tripod) and one thing you don't want to do is read the studio summary of the movie. They give away a huge reveal in the 3rd act. It's a reason I stay away from trailers and try to go in knowing as little about the movie as possible. This had a Lifetime movie of the week feel to me though there are some kernels to nibble on.
The love of the son for the mother played swimmingly by Jack Reynor and Toni Collette are authentic, but the movie isn't an equal to the duo.
And what the heck was that 3rd act and more specifically final three scenes. Totally random out of left field and unrelated to anything about the movie. Final Score 4.1.
