Review of Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie (2015) by S1R-R34L — 09 Apr 2017
This is a prequel to the original movie. The major and her team are for hire to the highest bidder. This is the story of how they enter Section 9. With the disappearance of the Disney element, that was in Innocence, this film is the proper and better sequel.
Once again the philosophical issues are woven throughout the story and bring the viewer into the tale as well as make them think. The CGI is lessened, though used to a better advantage. The only reason this doesn't work as well as the original is that it's missing the musicality and artistic direction the first had.
If you enjoyed the original then forget Innocence and watch this one. If you haven't watched Ghost In The Shell, then do yourself a favour and watch it.
