Review of Georgia (1995) by Leighton T — 25 Sep 2008
So realistic at some points, it's cringe-worthy. This is Jason-Leigh's best performance in a long line of very good ones. Mare Winningham is subtle, but brilliant. Watching the evolution (and sparring) of the two leads, as the story moves along, is brilliant.
While not a happy film, it does hit all the right notes. You do have to be in a certain kind of mood to watch it.
