Review of Foo Fighters: Back and Forth (2011) by Kyle S — 10 Apr 2011
Dave Grohl is one of the most persistently important musicians of our time, and although this film does not intend such a hypothesis, it certainly proves it. I can appreciate, most of all, these guys' boundless earnest.
Who else would actually tear up because they're living the dream, having 85,000 adoring fans belt every word of the band's songs like it's their last will and testament? They picked the perfect juncture to examine the band's career, because they're two decades solid in the game now, and they're about to release what could very well be remembered as their finest hour.
If you've ever loved Dave, the Foos, Queens of the Stone Age, Nirvana, rock 'n roll music, or doing what you love, this is an awesome encapsulation of the last living "big-time" rock 'n' roll band on Earth.
