Review of Floundering (1994) by Geno Peppino — 08 Feb 2009
Of all the movies I love this one stands out in the unique respect that it also happens to be a movie I think is shit. The story is self-indulgent, almost all of the characters lack motivation, and the entire film is put together haphazardly at best.
And yet, when I watched this movie, I was absolutely drawn in. I saw myself in the character of John. His outlook on all things, though cliche, are founded in substance. Assuming for one minute you might relate to John in his contentious, inconsistent, repressed persona, then yes, you too may enjoy this.
Otherwise, I say skip.
