Review of Female Perversions (1996) by Christine M — 26 Jan 2008
Mmn - I generally like the projects Tilda Swinton becomes involved with - and this movie promised to be interesting viewing, in my zone - but, in the end, I didn't like it.
It started with an intriguing premise, was based on a novel, had a strong cast but - apart from some moments around female rivalry and the politics of power, and some insight into female symbolism - for me, the film soon became pretty tedious.
The characters were unsympathetic and the narrative just fizzled out. A case of style over substance.
