Review of Fear and Desire (1953) by Nathaniel M — 06 Jan 2018
I probably liked this more than a lot of people. I like the themes and the way that it's presented and you can definitely see the genius of Kubrick present despite it also being as he said, akin to a child's artwork hung on a fridge, meaning that compared to his later stuff, this film was very amateurish.
But as a "student" film it's amazing, and still better than 90% of what comes out these days. Very solid film in my opinion and would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Kubrick movies.
