Review of Fargo (1996) by Joe A — 20 May 2014
I can't seem to explain to people why I adore this movie. I enjoy the characters accents, the mix of the mundane and the absurd, the snow dusted landscapes that bring me back to Saskatchewan and Alberta, the dark humor, the wholesome values of Marge Gunderson and her sweet relationship with her husband, the psychopathic violence fueled duo, Jerry Lundegaard's desperation and stupidity, and even the melancholic music.
As far as flaws go, the only thing I could see criticism for would be the slow pacing. I totally understand that some people would find this movie boring. If you enjoy the things I described earlier and you are in the mood for a film that you can get lost in, I strongly recommend this movie.
I know that I enjoy it with every viewing and I wouldn't change a thing. (9.5/10).
